On 30 Sept 2005, the HUBC/W team visited the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) for a friendly game. The team reached Hong Kong at about 4pm on 30 September and after checking into Kowloon Empire Hotel at Tsim Sha Tsui, the players were chaperoned by the representatives of the HKPF basketball team for a visit to the Central Police Station at Wan Chai, which was also co-located with the Police Headquarters of HKPF.

The tour at the Central Police Station included visits to facilities such as the Report Lodging Counter, Armory, Briefing Room and Lock-Up etc. The visit was indeed an eye opening experience for the HUBC players. The tour ended with a visit to the HKPF souvenir shop where the players were fascinated by the wide variety of HKPF souvenirs in the shop.

After the tour, the HUBC players adjourned for the friendly match against the HKPF’s women’s team at the Police Recreation Centre. It was indeed a match of stamina and determination. After putting up a strong fight, the HUBC managed to win by 12 points with a score of 48 (HUBC) Vs 37 (HKPF).

Thereafter, the HKPF treated the players to a sumptuous dinner at the Police Recreation Centre. The dinner was a fun-filled event as players and officials from both teams mingle and interact with each other via a karaoke session. Both teams also exchange e-mails addresses to stay in contact with each other.

The trip was a fun-filled and enriching experience for the HUBC players. It not only provided the players with the exposure of playing against a foreign team, it has also enhanced the bonding of the players to become more united as a team!
